Laser light interacts with
tissue causing phytochemical reactions to occur, stimulating
natural biological healing processes.
Do
therapeutic lasers burn?
No. There are two general
types of medical lasers:
Heat Generating Lasers which
cut through tissue; and
Cold Lasers such as the
Theralase® system used in laser therapy, which stimulate tissue
repair and reduce inflammation
Are
therapeutic lasers harmful?
No. The Theralase® laser used
for tissue stimulation is not strong enough to damage cells; so
even if they were used 24 hours a day, they would not be able to
harm you.
How long
does laser therapy take?
Treatment time is 15 minutes
per area treated. The total number of treatments varies
between 5 and 25 depending on the body's natural healing rate and
the severity of the condition.
